Fuel Up Legends - Food/Fuel Campaign

From now until August 9 support Legends by making a tax-deductible donation for our annual "Fuel Up Legends - Food/Fuel Campaign." Help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 which will be matched dollar for dollar by the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation.

Legends is currently on DCI Tour on until August 9 where we will give 20+ performances and travel 7000 miles. As we come into this final stretch, we are seeking your support to help "Fuel Up Legends." 92 youth performers plus 30 staff and volunteers will be with us during tour and it takes a large amount of food and fuel to keep this performing unit strong and ready to entertain. Consider contributing at our giving levels below in which you can contribute some miles to get our fleet down the road, bread or PB/J for the day, perhaps a breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack, or even take care of helping our fuel/food operation for the day.

Join us in helping to "Fuel Up Legends" and know that your contribution continues to impact the lives of young people in the pursuit of excellence. Visit our campaign page for more details and how to give: www.youcaring.com/fueluplegends

Sincerely,
Ibe Sodawalla

Legends 2014 presents “La Cathédrale”

Legends 2014 presents “La Cathédrale”

Inspired by the novel "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett, “La Cathédrale” explores spirituality and community through the story of a cathedral—and the people who worship in it. With the music of Claude Debussy providing the backdrop, the first movement begins with the early church struggling for a foothold in the pagan society of ancient Rome. In movement two, David Gillingham provides the soundtrack as believers begin to build the cathedral. Eric Whitacre’s music helps the congregation exalt in movement three, before the glorious finale—underscored by John Rutter—as the Cathedral becomes a centerpiece for the entire community.

Music Selections include:

“The Sunken Cathedral” by Claude Debussy
“Stained Glass” by David Gillingham
“Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre
“Gloria, Mvt. 3 (Vivace e ritmico)” by John Rutter

Design Team includes:

Ron Hardin, Program Coordinator/Drill Designer
Ibe Sodawalla, Brass Arranger
Landon Ewers, Percussion Composer
Jonathan Meader, Guard Designer
